A lucky Wellington punter has become New Zealand’s first Powerball multi-millionaire of 2025 after snagging $7 million.
Tonight’s numbers were 14, 15, 20, 32, 33, 34, the Bonus Ball was 13 and the Powerball was 9.
The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto and was made up of $6m from Powerball First Division and $1m from Lotto First Division.
Tonight’s winner is the first Powerball multi-millionaire of 2025, and the win comes just over a week after a Dunedin couple won $5m in the last major draw of 2024.
Following a sleepless night, the pair said they were still in “fairyland” as they tried to make sense of their new financial situation.
“It’s just mind-boggling.”
However, they want to treat their children and grandchildren straight away.
They also have a treat in mind for themselves.
“We’re going to look at replacing our car. We probably won’t buy a new one, but it will be an upgrade,” the woman said.
Meanwhile, Strike Four has rolled over tonight and will be $800,000 on Saturday.
What to do if you win
Ticketholders can see immediately if they have won if they purchased a ticket through MyLotto. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the account.
For prizes of more than $1000, winners have to fill in an online prize form.
Results are available immediately after the live draws on TVNZ 1, which take place on Wednesday and Saturday nights.
