KEY POINTS:
Motorists commuting into Wellington are being warned to expect delays after a diesel spill in the Ngauranga Gorge.
Sergeant Andy Downs said those coming from Porirua and the Kapiti Coast will be affected.
Mr Dow also said police are on their way to a crash between a motorbike and a car southbound on South Highway Two near Petone.
He said the car was still against the barrier.
Earlier this morning police warned motorists to drive with care after rain in the Wellington region overnight.
