KEY POINTS:
Motorists heading into Wellington this morning are being warned of lengthy delays with road works around the McKay Crossing.
Sergeant Andy Dow said the area is now a 50km zone and southbound traffic is down to one lane.
He said the delays will be worse around rush hour.
