A prominent Wellington lawyer has been convicted and fined on a handful of drug charges today.
Keith Jefferies initially pleaded not guilty to five charges after a police raid last year found drugs and utensils in his house, office and car.
But in the Wellington District Court today, he changed
his plea to guilty.
Jefferies' request for a discharge without conviction was denied, and he was fined $1000.
Judge David Ruth told Jefferies the conviction could have consequences for his Law Society membership.
