A Wellington house has been gutted by fire early this morning.
Firefighters were called to a property on Main Rd, Wainuiomata, just after 4am.
It took four fire trucks to bring the blaze under control and they remained at the scene for several hours.
Everyone in the single-storey structure escaped unharmed but the house suffered "extensive damage", a fire spokesman said.
Fire investigators and one fire truck are still at the property.
