Around a dozen Powerco customers in Wellington were still without gas this morning, 12 days after the supply to the central city was disrupted when water got into the pipes.
The electricity and gas network said it had virtually completed restoration of the network and cleared water from around 30 kilometres of pipes.
But spokesman Stephen Nicholls said a few properties had not been able to reconnect to supplies because water had seeped into in their internal gas plumbing systems and gas fitters had been unable to gain access or contact key holders.
He said anyone who was still without supplies should contact the company and a gas fitter would be sent to complete safety checks and reignite appliances.
