Wellington buses will come to a standstill for part of Monday as a mark of respect for Herman Curry.
Valley Flyer and Airport Flyer services will be suspended between 9am and 2pm.
New Zealand's largest bus operator, NZ Bus, says the decision was made as a mark of respect for the late Mr Curry, his family, and to allow Valley Flyer workers to attend the funeral service.
Mr Curry, 64, was discovered lying unconscious at a Lower Hutt bus depot late last Friday night. He could not be revived.
His cash box was missing and early reports suggested he had been attacked, but a post mortem examination found he died of a pre-existing medical condition.
