Planes are landing and taking off at Wellington Airport this morning, after major fog delays affected thousands of travellers in the past few days.
Wellington International Airport duty manager Shirley Atherfold told NZPA the weather had cleared sufficiently for operations to return to normal, though there was a backlog to be cleared.
"Wellington Airport is open for normal business," she said.
"We have had aircraft land and we've got aircraft going out, so basically we are operating normally."
Yesterday fog forced the cancellation of more than 250 flights in and out of the capital, affecting more than 12,000 people. It was the third day out of four that fog had forced cancellations of flights to or from Wellington.
