A Masterton gang associate believed to be involved in a large methamphetamine ring and facing a raft of serious drug charges has denied dealing or being involved in a criminal group selling the Class A drug.
Appearing before Judge Arthur Tompkins yesterday in Masterton District Court Jamie Liu, 38, a welder, entered the pleas to one charge of participating in an organised criminal group and four of supplying or dealing methamphetamine, commonly known as "P".
Liu is one of 15 people arrested as part of Operation Fantail, following a year-long police investigation which revealed rival gangs were working together to supply the drug.
During a search of Liu's property last month police seized a Chevolet Corvette car, Harley Davidson motorcycle and other assets including cash.
In total during the operation police discovered 150g of methamphetamine with a street value of $150,000, $50,000 cash and several vehicles.
