Hair loss, dandruff and weight gain are the three biggest concerns for image-conscious Kiwi blokes.
A new transtasman study showed 29 per cent of New Zealand men were worried about dandruff and just over a quarter concerned about losing their hair.
Almost two-thirds were concerned about putting on weight, compared to less than half of their Australian counterparts.
Auckland psychologist Sara Chatwin said when men start to lose their hair or get dandruff (which is perceived as dirty), they "may feel less virile, weak, older and generally less attractive".
More than 2000 people were quizzed for the survey, commissioned by Head & Shoulders to launch its new Hair Retain for Men shampoo.
Kiwi women were more concerned about men's hair than any other appearance issues.
