New Plymouth's turboslide, closed last month amid safety concerns, will reopen tomorrow but with a maximum weight limit for users.
A weight limit of 105kg will be introduced as one of several changes to the slide following an independent engineer's report, The Taranaki Daily News reported.
The turboslide was closed after a person was cut above their eye while using it, one of 41 accidents reported since the slide opened in the middle of last year.
But the engineer's report found no design faults with the slide and noted some of the injuries had happened because people were not riding in the correct position.
New Plymouth District Council general manager customer services Cathy Thurston said she was pleased to be able to re-open the slide.
"We'll be asking people to be honest with themselves about their weight and if a staff member believes a person might be over the weight limit they'll talk quietly with the customer to clarify the situation."
The turboslide was built by Timaru company Aeromarine Industries which also built a super-fast slide in Queenstown. That slide was shut last June after 69 injuries in its first six months of use.
