Six people, including two motorcyclists, have died on the nation's roads this weekend.
In the latest crash, two people died when their ute collided with a bus on State Highway 33, north-east of Tauranga.
One person was cut from the vehicle with serious injuries but later died, Inspector Lou Alofa of northern police communications said.
The bus was not carrying passengers at the time of the crash.
A motorcyclist died after crashing on the Shenandoah Highway, south of Murchison, yesterday. He died at the scene.
About 8.30pm yesterday, a person was killed after a crash on State Highway 27 near Ngarua, 18km southeast of Morrinsville, Waikato.
Only one vehicle was believed to be involved in the crash at the intersection of Given Rd, police said.
About 2.30pm yesterday a person died after a milk tanker and car collided on State Highway 2, at Waimana, 25km southeast of Whakatane.
Another motorcyclist was killed Friday night after he lost control of his bike and crashed into a corrugated fence in the Hamilton suburb, Frankton, about 6.50pm.
Mathew Graham Francis Matassa, a 36-year-old Te Pahu man, died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved and speed was a significant factor, Inspector Marcus Lynam said.
