KEY POINTS:
Web host and domain registration provider Openhost had its domain name switched off at the weekend, leaving hundreds of New Zealand businesses offline.
Managing director Daniel Williams said the company's account with US domain provider Enom was disabled early on Sunday without warning, meaning all domain names were redirected to an advertising page.
He said he had received about 140 phone calls from affected customers and hoped to resolve the matter as soon as Enom's offices reopened after the weekend.
