Weather warning issued for North island

A severe weather warning has been issued for parts of the North Island.

Up to 100 millimetres of rain is expected over the Eastern Bay of Plenty and the Central North Island Hill country, from now through to early tomorrow morning.

Southerly rain will hit the northern Hawke's Bay and southern Gisborne from tomorrow afternoon.

MetService says up to 150 millimetres is expected in those areas.
