A wet day is in store for much of the North Island today.
After a glorious few days, the weather is taking a turn for the worse with widespread showers and rain across the island.
MetService duty forecaster Hannah Moes said most regions could expect wet weather at some point during the day but skies would clear by tonight.
Auckland could expect a high of 23C with a few showers mainly after lunch. Wellington was in for a slightly cooler 18C.
Meanwhile, the wet weather would clear in the South Island by midday and remain fine for the weekend.
