A fine start to the week will turn into rain from tomorrow for much of New Zealand, but it's a lot warmer than the frigid conditions of seven days ago.
Auckland may be hit by isolated showers today, but it's otherwise fine for most of the day as temperatures touch 15C.
MetService meteorologist Karl Loots said coastal areas of Northland, Gisborne and Hawke's Bay would also have the odd shower, while the interior of the North Island was fine.
Wellington will have a nice day with a moderate northerly and the outlook is good over most of the South Island, once patchy morning fog and high cloud clear.
"In the west we've just got a few showers this morning for Westland and Buller that turn into rain this morning."
