Bella Law had the best ladies' return of 40pts on the first day, with Caron Ratima returning 39, Sharon Harper 38, Di Hunter 37 and Anke Hermannsdorfer and Karen Martin 36.
But the tournament is over two days. The second day saw some of those towards the top on day one fall down the ladder and some others improve their positions.
The men's first group saw Tom Ratima add a 41pt total to his day one total to win the group with 85, while Ray Cocks could only total 35 on the second day but his 80pt total was good enough for second place in the group. Byron Karaitiana and Kurt Karaitiana both posted good rounds to share third place on 79.
In the second group, Haira Paku added 42pts to his day one total to lead the group with 86, two ahead of Mark Logan. Dayle Harwood had a good second round to move up to third on 80, 2pts ahead of Jeremy Harp in fourth place.
The third men's group saw Colin McAuley complete a great three days of golf with a 42pt haul for a total of 88. Bill Ousey was runner-up on 83, followed by Rob McKelvey on 81 and Whana Rohe on 80.
In the ladies' first group, Sharon Harper moved to the top of the table with a 75pt total, Caron Ratima taking second place on 72 and Ngaire Graham third on 71. Then came Anita Karaitiana on 68.
The ladies' second group fell to Kani Peneueta with 75pts after a second round 43pts. Runners-up on 71 points were Karen Martin and Bella Law, with Jenny Bennett, Di Hunter and Heather Ousey all finishing on 67 points.
With nearest to the pins on every hole both days for both the ladies and the men, as well as long drives, a large number of the players were able to take away a prize.
On Tuesday, the veterans played in a par competition. The best of the ladies was Maria Lauvi with a score of 7 up, with Janet Shaw the runner-up on 6 up, followed by Jean Bayly on 4 up. The men's scoring was similar, with Meki Lauvi having a score of 7 up, with Peter Campbell on 6 up and Geoff Parker on 5 up.
The ladies' nearest to the pins went to Maria Lauvi on the third hole and to Daphne Jordan on the sixth, while the men's ones went to Geoff Parker on the sixth and Meki Lauvi on the seventh. Holes in two were scored by Meki Lauvi, Daphne Jordan and Geoff Parker.
This Saturday has the men's division six team playing Masterton at Mahunga, while the division team face the difficult challenge posed by the Mornington Golf Club course. For those men playing at Mahunga, the club competition will be a medal round and for the ladies, it will be the third round of their LGU competition.
Sunday will also see interclub competition at the forefront, with the ladies' Tilson Salver team playing at Castlepoint, where their opponents will be from the Riversdale Beach Golf Club.
The men will also be away, at Martinborough, where their opposition will come from the Featherston team.
