A couple who got engaged mid-flight were greeted with a spectacular water arch thanks to the kind staff at Wellington Airport.
The Air New Zealand pilot called in the proposal from the air last night and asked the airport if they could do something for the newly-betrothed pair.
The honour is usually reserved for VIPs and inaugural flights, but the airport firefighters rolled out the canons for the happy couple's special occasion, a spokeswoman said.
A picture of the event was posted by the airport on Instagram with the caption:
"Sometimes an in-flight proposal requires something extra to celebrate - like a water arch!"
