Rangitikei District Council says it has restored water supplies to the township of Mangaweka.
Pumping began last night but residents must boil water for drinking for at least the next three days, the council said in a statement this morning.
Since Monday the town had relied on water from the Fire Service.
Residents in Hunterville and Bulls have also been advised to boil water for drinking, after floods contaminated supplies.
