Everyone on a yacht that was taking on water in Whangārei Harbour this morning have been accounted for safe and well, police say.
A police spokesman said they were notified at 6.51am that the vessel was in trouble.
“Coastguard attended and all persons on board were accounted for safe and well.”
Coastguard Duty Officer Luke McCarthy confirmed that seven people were on board the vessel.
“Circa Rescue arrived at 7.15am, with volunteers assessing the situation and confirming that all individuals were safe and well. Once the water ingress was stopped, Coastguard departed the scene just before 8am.”
