The owner of a Hawke's Bay cat that left home on top of a ute is hoping the missing Meeanee moggie makes it home soon.
Two-year-old Mya was last seen leaving owner Bridget Brannigan's home in Meeanee, about 7km south of Napier, atop of a ute, driven by Brannigan's oblivious daughter.
The vehicle headed towards Taradale, about 5km away.
Mya's departure was captured on security camera, and Brannigan is hopeful the family pet has alighted not too far from home, and is lost, but safe and will show up soon.
Brannigan describes Mya as a "typical Burmese" - the breed is renowned for getting in and on vehicles.
