Fog blanketing parts of Auckland is unlikely to clear before commuters travel home from work this evening.
Fog has shrouded parts of the city today, and little winds and light rain has done nothing to help the situation.
MetService meteorologist Rebekah LaBar said motorists would need to take care this evening.
"Aside from a few showers coming in in a couple of hours time there's not a lot coming that will help move that fog out," she said.
"Even if it's not foggy patches on the journey home its definitely not the greatest visibility so my advice for people is to take it easy on your journey home."
