Customs says 40kg of the methamphetamine precursor Contac NT was found in a shipping container in Auckland carrying 100 sacks of washing powder from China.
It was Customs' biggest drugs interception in April, a month in which it uncovered about 77kg of precursor destined for processing into methamphetamine, or P.
The haul was worth $3 million to $4.5 million.
