Departing New Zealand Warrior Tevita Latu was today ordered to pay court costs for his part in a fight outside a nightclub last Friday.
The 24-year-old rugby league hooker made a brief appearance in Auckland District Court, having pleaded guilty to a charge of fighting in a public place.
Judge Robert Kerr told Latu that the incident had been "a silly thing to get involved with".
He convicted Latu and ordered him to pay $130 in court costs.
The court was told the incident involved Latu and another male and had begun with a verbal argument.
Latu, a one-test Kiwi, first played for the Warriors in 2003, but has had limited opportunities with the club this year.
He will join Cronulla, the team he made his first-grade debut against, in the off-season on a two-year deal.
