The spelling was a little off, but it was the thought that counted when Paralympian Sophie Pascoe returned to a welcome message graffitied onto her street at home.
The 23-year-old swimming star arrived home to Christchurch to find the words "Welcome home Sophi" sprayed across the road in her neighbourhood.
"Came home to this," Pascoe posted on Facebook, with a photo of the tribute from her loving neighbours.
Pascoe is New Zealand's most successful Paralympian, earning her 15th medal at the Rio Games.
She brought back three gold medals and two silvers.
