A significant number of New Zealanders have changed their minds and now think New Zealand should have sent troops to Iraq, says a poll published yesterday in the National Business Review.
Asked last week, "Should New Zealand troops be involved in a military effort against Iraq without United Nations approval?" 30 per cent said yes, 65 per cent no, and 5 per cent were unsure.
In February 12 per cent said yes, 86 per cent no, and 2 per cent were unsure.
Asked if the US was right or wrong to invade without UN approval, 31 per cent said right, 56 per cent wrong, and 13 per cent were unsure in the latest poll.
The telephone poll of 750 New Zealanders over the age of 18 has a margin of error of 3.6 per cent.
