New Zealand-born war hero Nancy Wake is in a London hospital after suffering a heart attack.
The 90-year-old, who was born in Wellington but grew up in Australia, won the French Croix de Guerre twice, the British George Medal and the American Medal of Freedom for her work with the Resistance during the Nazi occupation of France in World War II.
Ms Wake has lived at London's Stafford Hotel off and on since 1946 but has recently had difficulties paying her bill, although Prince Charles has made a donation.
Ms Wake joined the Resistance in 1940 and helped hundreds of people, including airmen shot down over France, to escape capture.
