KEY POINTS:
One of the most wanted men in the Solomons, sought for the attempted murder of a New Zealand policeman, has surrendered to Australian security forces.
After two months on the run, the man, whose name has not yet been released but is believed to be Alphonseus Toghovotu, gave himself up to Australian soldiers on Saturday.
He was wanted for the attempted murder of New Zealand policeman Chris Renata, who suffered a 15cm machete gash to his leg in an attack on September 2.
Three other men, aged 26, 31, and 39, were already in custody, charged with Mr Renata's attempted murder while he was on duty in the Solomon Islands.
