A wanted criminal is perched on a South Dunedin roof and threatening to jump, police say.
Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken said the man was known to police and had been seen running through properties in the area.
"He's chosen to stand on the roof of a building and be a nuisance," he said.
The building was surrounded and a police negotiator was talking with the man, he said.
