A plan to deliver trespass notices to local businesses to stop Stewart Wilson from entering their premises is back on, following legal advice.
Wanganui District councillor Ray Stevens sought legal counsel after it was brought to his attention that issuing a large number of trespass notices against Wilson, dubbed ``the Beast of Blenheim'', might not be enforceable.
However, after consulting his personal lawyer, Mr Stevens said he was advised that so long as the trespass notice was on the proper form, signed by an authorised person of a clearly described premises and served on Wilson, it would meet the requirements of the Trespass Act.
Mr Stevens said he would get the already-filled-out trespass notices printed this week and planned to deliver them to local businesses on Monday.
He said businesses likely to be frequented by Wilson would be selected to receive notices, including dairies, food premises and clothing businesses.
