A Wanganui man has denied breaking both his baby grandson's legs in a violent attack last year, saying the baby's father was more likely to have inflicted the injuries.
Lex Sinclair is on trial in the Palmerston North District Court for allegedly breaking the legs and fracturing the skull of his grandson at a Taranaki property last year.
The Crown said he failed to get any medical assistance for the young child, instead telling family members that the baby's black eye and leg bruising were from falling off a couch.
However Sinclair's defence claimed he was not responsible for the attack and said the baby's injuries were more likely to have occurred at the hands of his father when he was returned to his care.
The trial is set down for the rest of the week.
