The South Island resort town of Wanaka has been rocked by a magnitude 4.1 earthquake tonight.
GeoNet said the moderate 15km-deep quake struck 25km northwest of Wanaka at 6.13pm.
The quake was felt around Central Otago, according to user reports on the GeoNet website.
