Cemeteries should not just be for the dead but could become places of relaxation, says a British architects' lobby group, Cabe.
It said they were originally intended as public open spaces.
"Cemeteries should be designed with the living in mind too," said director Sarah Gaventa.
Urban planners should build visitor facilities and walks to encourage people to explore and take exercise.
