One of Wakari Hospital's two wards for people with intellectual disabilities is to close.
The Dunedin hospital would have one 13-bed ward for those patients from March 10, said an Otago District Health Board spokeswoman.
Wakari has two wards at present - one of 12 beds and one of six - for people with intellectual disabilities, only a few of whom have psychiatric disabilities as well.
