Cautious New Zealanders are chewing up the country's commercial Tamiflu supply.
Tamiflu is the medication used to treat swine flu and is available to the public over the pharmacy counter from a stock separate from the four million doses the Government has stockpiled.
Several pharmacies in Wellington say they have waiting lists forming as they struggle to keep up with demand. Kelburn Pharmacy says it has six people on its Tamiflu waiting list, and that number is growing every day. Pharmacist Bevan Chan says people are being prudent as swine flu continues to spread. He says most people seeking the drug are about to travel to countries which have high infection rates.
