Three men charged with murder after a fatal shooting in Wairoa on the same day as a large gang fight in the town in 2003, are to face trial next week.
The men, who have name suppression and who are in custody, will appear in the High Court at Wellington
next Monday in a trial expected to last two weeks.
Black Power member Henry William Waihape, 29, was shot dead on November 27, 2003, as he travelled in a van from Wairoa to Frasertown.
He was one of six people in the van, which was hit by multiple gunshots.
Earlier that day about 50 Black Power and Mongrel Mob affiliates were involved in a brawl outside Wairoa District Court.
Paul Mabey, QC, Mike Antunovic, and Tony Snell are representing the three accused.
