Wairarapa teams are dominating the Wellington premier division secondary schools hockey competitions.
In the boys' grade, Wairarapa College sits atop the table after registering five wins from as many matches, while in the girls' grade, it is St Matthew's up front, also with five wins from five matches.
Wairarapa College, whose only defeat in the championship was against St Matthew's, is second.
Tomorrow night will see the last of the preliminary round matches and the Wairarapa College boys - who have scored 23 goals while conceding just one - will face one of their stiffest tests of the season when they meet Scots at the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington at 6.45pm.
Scots showed they were in good touch when they disposed of Rathkeale College 7-0 last week, leaving Rathkeale with just one win from five games. They will be hoping for better when they confront St Pats Town at Clareville tomorrow night at 6.15pm.
Also playing at Clareville tomorrow will be St Matthew's girls, who will continue a busy week when they host Wellington Girls, starting at 7.30pm.
The Abby Hill-coached St Matthew's hammered St Mary's 6-1 last Friday and on Monday scored a comfortable 4-0 victory over the highly-rated Samuel Marsden combination.
The Wairarapa College girls team will be coming off the back of a 3-0 win over Wellington East when they head to the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington tomorrow night to take on Sacred Heart, starting at 6.45pm.
