Wairarapa teams are continuing to make a favourable impression in Capital Football competitions this season.
While Douglas Villa were on the end of a 2-0 beating by Naenae at the Jeans St grounds in Masterton on Saturday they still hold second place on the points table. Leading the way is Island Bay United on 18, followed by Douglas Villa 15, Naenae 14, Western Suburbs 13, Lower Hutt City and Upper Hutt City 9, Stop Out and Wellington Olympic 6, Wellington United 4 and Tawa Bulldogs 3.
Wairarapa United seconds got out to a commanding six-point lead in the third division series after their 3-1 victory over second-placed Waterside-Karori Cougars at Howard Booth Park last Sunday. They have 19 points, while Waterside-Karori Cougars and Victoria University have 13, White Swan Greytown and Petone Armanis 9, Marist 8, Gardner Electrical Masterton 6, Petone and NW Inglorious White Socks 5 and Wainuiomata 3.
