Alexa ten Hove and David Crofoot, both of Masterton but members of the Raglan Surf Academy, will also be involved, ten Hove in the under-19ys division and Crofoot in the under-18 section.
They were selected after the regional qualifying event held recently at Castlepoint and will be involved in competition from Monday through until Saturday.
It is the first time since 2001 that Taranaki has staged the event, which was first held in 1989,and the venue is Oakura Beach.
Results there will play a big part in the naming of the New Zealand team to compete at the world junior championships in California in September.
Wellington have not been amongst the title winners at the nationals for the past few years but officials are optimistic of a better return this time round.
