Wairarapa College student Rosie Mahoney has been named in the Wellington under-19yrs No.1 team to compete at the national age group netball championships in Invercargill from July 18 to 22.
Also in the No.1 side is a former Wairarapa player in Julia Biggs, who is currently attending university in Wellington and plays her club netball in the Hutt Valley.
Named in the Wellington under-19yrs No.2 side, which will travel to the Invercargill tourney as well, has been Kim Holsted of Kuranui College.
The Netball Wairarapa under-15yrs and uner-15yrs development squad teams were announced today. They are:-
Under-15: Te Ata Phillips, Chanel Phillips, Alana Strange (Kuranui); Charlotte Biggs, Jesse Smith, Ngahuia Wilson, Katie Brasell (St Matthew's); Maria Hodges, Renee Cummings, Emily Simpson (Wairarapa College). Coach is Kim Whiteman.
Development squad: Alex George (Chanel); Natasha Hill, Tania Strange (Kuranui); Brogan Anspach, Paige Drummond, Jorja Bramley, Sophie Deans (St Matthew's); Victoria Green, Amy Pollock, Sonya Gordon, Alex Taia, Ngapera Tipuna (Wairarapa College). Coach is Lynda Strange.
The teams will train at the Genesis Recreation Centre in Masterton on Friday, May 20, from 4pm to 6pm.
