Sport Wellington's Wairarapa office has a new location.
It has been moved from its home of the past 13 years at the rear of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust building to the new Prime Community Trust Wairarapa Sports House, on the corner of Masterton's Jackson and Chapel Sts.
Dayle Clarkson, Sport Wellington Wairarapa (SWW) regional manager, says the more accessible location, with its purpose-built meeting rooms and community networking resources, will allow the organisation to continue its role as a connector of the Wairarapa sporting community.
Clarkson says SWW has gone from strength to strength in recent years and has consequently outgrown its previous headquarters. She cited the recent appointment of Sarah Roberts as co-ordinator of Active Families, a programme previously run only west of the Rimutakas, as an example of its growth. "It is this kind of growth which makes the move to a bigger, more open space timely," Clarkson said, adding there had already been a positive response to the new building with several inquiries received from other potential tenants.
"We look forward to more of the sporting community accessing the resources the Sport House has to offer, such as the up-to-date technology, as well as providing a networking hub for them, too."
