A Wairarapa man found guilty of repeatedly raping a teenager and abducting her to the countryside has had his appeal against his conviction dismissed.
Michael Lihou was found guilty of seven charges relating to the incident in 2013, during which he continuously raped an 18-year-old woman over a period of several hours.
The following day he allegedly frogmarched her eight kilometres across the countryside before setting up camp. They were discovered by a farmer who contacted police.
He had two earlier convictions for similar offences.
Lihou appealed his conviction and his sentence of nine years and four months in April this year.
