Wairarapa College lost their quarter-final match at the Linwood Trophy secondary schoolboys soccer tournament in Masterton yesterday.
They were beaten 3-0 by one of the pre-tournament favourites, Havelock North High.
In other quarter-final games Newlands College beat St Johns College 1-0, Lindisfarne College beat Onehunga College in a penalty shoot 4-1 after it was 0-0 at the end of ordinary time and Otumoetai College beat Awatapu College 5-0.

Wairarapa College will now play off for between fifth to eighth placings with their opposition today being St Johns College.
Wairarapa College achieved their objective of making the top eight despite suffering a surprise 3-2 loss to St Paul's College from Hamilton on Tuesday..
Coach Kenny Weight conceded his side may have been guilty of taking St Paul's too lightly after their good results of the previous day, a win and a draw.
"We weren't quite as committed as we could have been and we paid the price for it," he said.
St Paul's took an early lead and after Wairarapa College had equalised they scored two further goals to go out to a 3-1 advantage. It was Wairarapa College who had the last say though with Azim Shiek reducing the margin to one in the closing stages.
The loss left Wairarapa College on the same points as three other teams in their section and finishing positions had to be determined by goal difference. Wairarapa College went through to the top eight in behind Otumoetai College .
Regardless of that result though coach Wright has been "absolutely rapt" with his team's effort to remain in contention for trophy honours.
"It's a tough competition so to get where we have is a thrill, now we can treat anything else as a bonus,"he said.
Tuesday's results: Havelock North High School 3, Aotea College 0; Awatapu College 1, Rotorua Boys High 0; Newlands College 1, Lindisfarne College 1; Campion College 1, Fraser High School 1; Mt Maunganui College 4, Scots College 2; Onehunga High School 2, St Johns College 0; Wellington High School 5,Otumoetai College 4, St Paul's Collegiate 3, Wairarapa College 2.
