Masterton Countdown shoppers spoken to by the Times-Age had mixed reactions about a 1080 protest threat to poison baby formula.
Steph Wilson, shopping with her daughter Lily Wilson, 13 months, and her father, Steven Hall, said she was not particularly worried about buying formula.
However anyone making threats against babiesshould be punished severely she said.
"Take them out and shoot them. They don't deserve any leniency if they find them."
Louise Delaney, shopping with 22-month-old Harry, said she had checked her tins of formula at home.
Jan Peacock said she was not really worried by the scare, although her granddaughter of eight weeks, Mikayla, was being fed infant formula.
"It would have to be someone working inside the factory. Of course there's always going to be concerns when someone says something like that."
"There are some crazy people out there."
The family did not plan to stop feeding Mikayla formula.
Alicia Williams said her 5-month-old son, Corban, normally had a sachet of formula in the evening, which she was not able to purchase as it had been pulled from shelves.
"I don't think I'd be too worried unless I could see it had been tampered with."
