WAIRARAPA drivers are finding form as their New Zealand jetsprint championship round draws closer.
The Auckland round of the series, round 4, was held last weekend and Featherston man Garry Smith took out the Group A honours. That brought him to within one point of second place.
And Wairarapa drivers swept the board in the Lights class, Ray Ferguson heading off Catherine Smith and Morris Edwards (these two sharing drives in the same boat).
Ferguson now leads the Lights championship.
Round 5 of the series is in Timaru at Easter weekend and the sixth and final round is at the new Tauherenikau track on April 22.
Garry Smith, who supplied these photographs said interest in the local event is high.
The club has signed up 30 business sponsors for the meeting, and drivers are eager to try out the new circuit, on the infield to the left of the Tauherenikau driveway.
