Reigning New Zealand Hurdler of the Year Gone Troppo (No.3) leads kennel-mates Aranuijazz and Prince Zidane over the first fence in the Preview Hurdles, feature event on the first day of the Wairarapa Greyhound Racing Club's Christmas meeting at Solway Showgrounds yesterday. However, it was Aranuijazz who took the honours at the end of the 545m journey with Prince Zidane second and Chippewa Brave making ground late for third. Gone Troppo faded to fifth. President of the Wairarapa club Owen Marron had a successful day, winning with Clydebank and Scandanavian while Pahiatua trainers Lorraine McCook and Bill Denbee scored with Earl McRoberts and Mister Forbes respectively.The second day of the Christmas meeting is at Solway on Sunday with the highlights being the heats of the New Zealand Championship Hurdles and the Gobis, a series for which only New Zealand-bred greyhounds are eligible.
