Seven swimmers from Carterton and one from Greytown took the Xcelerate swim meet at Taupo last weekend by storm.
They collectively won 22 gold medals, with Carterton duo Bella Biggs and Joe Hammond each earning seven.
Hammond also picked up two silvers, while Jessie Parker managed two golds and two silvers; Dallas Swaneveld two golds, two silvers and a bronze; Kendall Peterson one gold, one silver and four bronzes; Katherine Williams one silver and two bronzes; Kaden Saywell one silver and three bronzes; and Zac Hullah, the lone Greytown swimmer, one silver and three bronzes.
Wairarapa records were set by Parker in the 200m freestyle, Biggs in the 50m butterfly and Hammond in the 50m backstroke. Taupo meet record times were bettered by Biggs in the 100m medley, 200m medley and 50m butterfly, Hammond in the 50m backstroke and 100m breaststroke and Parker in the 200m freestyle.
There were a total of 24 personal best times recorded, with Parker registering six, Swaneveld and Biggs four, Peterson and Hammond three, and Williams and Saywell two.
Swaneveld, Biggs and Hammond amassed the most points in their age groups and Williams was third in her division.
