Wairarapa finished third in their pool in the regional super league netball series and will square off against Naenae Collegians in the semifinals at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua tomorrow night.
It is exactly the same draw as for the last of the pool matches when Naenae Collegians won 56-42, a sharply improved effort by Wairarapa considering they had lost by more than 50 points in an earlier clash between the two sides.
Coach Dayle Clarkson said there were many pleasing facets in the Wairarapa performance. They had started strongly and been up by four goals at the end of the first quarter and were still even-stevens at halftime and while the focus slipped over the next two quarters there were enough plusses to give confidence for tomorrow night's encounter.
"It's going to be important to have the right combinations on court at the right time. The impact players need to be brought in at precisely the right moment," she said. "We need a maximum effort on court all through the game."
