A car crash involving three people resulted in a power cut in Eketahuna yesterday .
A Carterton man, 80, and his female passenger crossed the centre line driving south on State Highway 2, north of Eketahuna and clipped the trailer of a northbound stock truck. The car then struck a power pole.
Eketahuna Constable Donna Olliver said the couple were taken to Wairarapa Hospital with minor injuries. The truck driver was uninjured.
She said the couple were "very close" to being seriously injured and were lucky to get away largely unscathed.
The power pole will have to be replaced.
