Wairarapa were on track for the quarter-finals after the first two days at the Hatch Cup national under-13 boys hockey tournament in Christchurch.
After a comfortable 3-0 win over Taranaki on Monday they scored two further wins over Manawatu (2-0) and Thames Valley (6-1) on Tuesday.
George Robinson and Nathan Whiteman scored the goals against Manawatu and Whiteman, Xavier Bush, Henry Phelps, Ethan Presow and Sam Smith (2) against Thames Valley.
Going into yesterday's games Wairarapa and North Harbour shared the lead in their pool with nine points, followed by Taranaki (six) and Bay of Plenty (three). Manawatu and Thames Valley were still to open their account.
Meanwhile, the news was not so bright from the Collier Trophy national under-13 girls tournament at Pakuranga where Wairarapa followed a 2-2 draw with Marlborough with losses to Invercargill (0-2) and North Harbour (0-3).
